Representative Lummis Stops In NE Wyo

U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis was out and about in Northeastern Wyoming yesterday, visiting her constituents, chatting about her re-election campaign and the issues she's overseeing in Washington. Lummis stopped by our studios, and we'll be airing portions of the interview in the coming days.

Today, we'll focus on one of the bigger topics in the state and country, the budget.

Lummis is championing the national budget set forth by House Budget Committee Chairman and VP pick Paul Ryan. Lummis says Ryan's budget plan takes a long time, as it is a glide path to eliminating the national debt. It takes a glide path to produce a budget that lowers the debt and deficit without raising taxes, she says.
She is aware that Presidential nominee Mitt Romney's plan may be slightly different than that of Ryan's but since he is the presumptive VP pick, they will work together. She says their approach to the budget is superior to that of President Obama's.
We'll hear from Lummis on a number of other topics on upcoming newscasts. Lummis is running for re-election, and says she will be out and about this month meeting with her constituents.
