Documents Indicate Triple Homicide Suspects Talking About Crime

CourtcodyThe two suspects accused of a triple homicide that took place in Clark on Saturday have now been officially charged after making their first court appearance in front of Bruce Waters in a Cody courtroom this morning.

Stephen Hammer and Tanner Vanpelt have been charged with 11 felony counts, 7 of which carry the death penalty.

Allegedly According to court documents the two Cody teens drove to the victims' residence to borrow a car that they intended to drive to Denver. When Ildiko Freitas (40) refused to let the two borrow her vehicle, an Audi 4, an argument ensued. Vanpelt allegedly raised a 9mm hs200 and shot Ildiko in the head. Hammer states that he then heard something downstairs so he went to check it out, there he discovered 69 year old woman Hildergaurd Vogyessi and he shot her with a Tauras 9mm. After hearing the shooting downstairs, Vanpelt ran downstairs to see her still breathing, so he shot her two more times to ensure she was dead. Vanpelt found the keys to the audi and was in the process of stealing it when he witnessed a 70 year old man, Janos Volgyessi, walk into the garage and say something, the man turned to walk away and Vanpelt shot him twice in the back. When an officer asked for clarification Vanpelt replied, yes, he had shot him in the back twice that he was not just going to shoot him in the legs.

Court documents indicate both men have confessed to the crimes and to using guns they stole during a burglary that took place February 26th at Cody Sports And Pawn.
