New Game Warden – Sheridan Region

hibbsSheridan- Robert Hipp is a new game warden for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department in Sheridan. He will be working some wildlife duties right away and watercraft enforcement next summer in northeast Wyoming. His reservoir responsibilities will be partially funded by the U.S. Coast Guard with Lake DeSmet and Keyhole Reservoir as his main focus.
Hipp says, “I am looking forward to getting to know the Sheridan community and helping to ensure the safety of boaters, anglers, and hunters throughout the region.”
Hipp’s new job is essentially an entry-level game warden position. He does not have a district, but works the entire Sheridan region, particularly the Sheridan area. In addition to law enforcement, damage control and prevention, data collection, and wildlife management duties, he will assist region wardens and biologists when needed.
Hipp graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in wildlife biology and management. He will be attending the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy in January to become certified as a Wyoming peace officer.
The Sheridan Region stretches from the Bighorn Mountain divide, east to Moorcroft, and from Kaycee, north to the Montana state-line.
