A young child and mother were killed in a vehicle accident about 7:15 am on April 25th. Tianna M Johnson (22) of Casper and daughter Tyler Johnson (1) were about 6.6 miles west of Casper in Natrona County at the time of the crash.
Johnson was westbound on WYO 220 when she was unable to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Her vehicle was traveling at an as of yet to be determined high rate of speed and went off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle went down an embankment and rolled approximately four times coming to rest at the bottom of a creek bed. During the rollover, Tianna, who was not wearing a seat belt, was totally ejected from the vehicle. Tyler, who was properly restrained in a rear facing child seat, was transported to Wyoming Medical Center in Casper and eventually flown to Denver Children’s Hospital.
Excessive speed is a contributing factor in this fatal crash.
