Camel football fans, who want to get an early look at this year's Campbell County High School football team, will have that opportunity this week.
The Camels will host a 'Soup Scrimmage' Friday at 6 p.m.
“Traditionally this has been a "Soap Scrimmage" and we ask for a donation of a bar of soap of bottle of shampoo as entry fee. The soap and shampoo are used by players throughout the season,” said Camel Coach Vic Wilkerson. “Over the past years we have accumluated a lot of soap and shampoo, so this year the seniors have decided to use the scrimmage as a community service event.”
“They would like admission to be non-perishable or canned food items that the seniors will then donate to the Soup Kitchen. The admission will be one can per person or a bulk size can to admit a family. Boxes will be set outside the stadium and fans can leave their items in the boxes,” said Wilkerson.
Wilkerson says anyone who would like to donate to the Soup Kitchen cause, but can not attend the scrimmage, can contact any senior football player or Coach Wilkerson at 680-0432 and someone will gladly pick up your donation.
