The Gillette Girls swim team went up against Sheridan, Friday, and came away with a win by the score of 132 to 54.
The Camels got first place finishes from freshman Riley Pilon, in the 200 Yard Freestyle; sophomore Katie Carsrud, in both the 200 Yard Individual Medley and 100 Yard breaststroke; sophomore Madison O'Dell, in the 1 Meter Dive; junior Emily Jewell, in the 100 yard butterfly; sophomore Emily Carsrud, in the 100 yard freestyle; and freshman Taylor Schiefelbein in the 100 yard backstroke.
Three relay teams also registered first-place finishes, for the Camels, on Friday. They were the 200 yard Medley team of freshmen Pilon and Schiefelbein, and sophomores Katie Carsrud and Annie Waldum. Also, the 200 Yard freestyle relay team of Waldum, Emily Carsrud, Pilon, and sophomore Jillian Mills, took first along the the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Schiefelbein, Emily Carsrud, Mills, and sophomore Sunshine Roberts.
The Camels will be on the road against Newcastle, on Thursday; home against Cheyenne East, on Friday; and in Sheridan, for the Sheridan Invite, on Saturday.
The Gillette Volleyball team fell to Cheyenne Central, 3-1 on Friday, 21-25, 25-21, 25-22, and 25-22. They bounced back with a 3-0 win over Cheyenne East, on Saturday, 25-20, 25-16, and 25-23.
The loss to Central was just the third loss of the season, for the Camels, whose other two defeats came against Idaho Falls in a tournament, last month. Gillette will be in Casper, for the Casper Invite, this Friday and Saturday.
The Gillette Girls' Golf team placed fourth, over the weekend, at the Casper Invite. Jandey Shackelford shot a 96-92-188 to lead the Camels. That was good for tenth place, overall. The Gillette Boys' Golf team took fifth, led by Danny Davis, who placed fifth, individually, with a 74-74-148.
