Lady Camels get ninth win of the season

Gillette, Wyo,--The Lady Camels (9-2) were able to take care of the Rapid City Stevens Raiders (1-8) as three Gillette players finished in double digits in the 62-55 victory at the Castle of Chaos.

After a 4-4 tie early in the first quarter, Gillette was able to take the lead and it never looked back. The Lady Camels had numerous eight and ten-point lead throughout the game.

Gabby Haefs of Rapid City Stevens kept the first half a respectable 32-24 game in favor of Gillette due to her making all six of her free throws.  Shelby Johnson led the Lady Camels in the first half with eight points, m0ore than two times her 3.7 point-per-game average.

In the third quarter, Haefs kept her Raiders in the game, sinking three treys and helped cut the Lady Camels lead down to five, 49-44, at the end of the stanza.

However, throughout the second half, Dani Williams' shooting helped lead Gillette on its course to nine victories on the season. Williams made six deuces in the second half and was 4-6 from the free throw line. She had the Lady Camels high of 20 points in the game.

Haefs led all players in the game with 25 points.
