Gillette, Wyo.--The Gillette Camels (14-2, 4-0), led by Cody Kelley's game-high of 20 points, defeated the Central Indians (5-8, 0-3) Saturday afternoon, 65-38 at the Castle of Chaos.
It was a close game to start out. The Indians took a 2-0 lead , that was tied up by the Camels. The Camels went ahead at 5-2, but the Indians were able to tie it up at five points and seven points. Gillette went ahead at 9-7 and never looked back. The Indians only scored five more points in the first quarter, as the Camels took advantage of the three-ball and had a 27-12 lead into the second quarter.
Gillette's defense only allowed the Indians to score 9 points in the second stanza. Gillette ended the first half going eight for nine from the free throw line and scoring six treys. It was 46-21 in favor of Gillette at halftime.
Two starters for the Indians fouled out of the game before the end of the third quarter, forcing Central to go to the bench. The Indians just had no response for the Camels depth, as nine Camels put points on the scoreboard.
Brady Cates led the Indians with 11 points.
