GILLETTE, Wyo.--On Nov. 8th, Gillette College lost to Williston State, 105-91. The Pronghorns (5-2) had a bitter taste in their mouths from that defeat and returned the favor with a 95-79 win over the Tetons on Saturday night.
Gillette College opened the game with a 10-0 run and led by as many as 25 points in the contest. Renard Suggs was on fire in the first half, knocking down 20 points and going four for six beyond the arc. Muhammad Ahmed held his own, as well. He had 13 points in the first half.
Gillette College led 48-34 at halftime of 50 percent shooting from the field.
Ahmed and Dwight Anderson each had 15 points in the second half. Anderson hit three triples in a row in the second period and pulled down eight boards to give him a double-double in the contest.
Overall, Gillette College made 10 treys in the game to help pad its distance from Williston State.
Ahmed had the game-high of 28 points, but four Pronghorns were in double figures.
Gillette College will head to Scottsbluff, Neb. for a two-game tournament on Friday and Saturday. Friday, Gillette will play Cole College and take on host school Western Nebraska Community College on Saturday.
