The Gillette College Pronghorns women's basketball team took on Central Wyoming College and Casper College at Sheridan College's campus last weekend in two scrimmages.
Overall it was a good opportunity to show some things and play against somebody different than ourselves for a change,” Head Coach Will Rider said about the trip to Sheridan.
“Our defense is ahead of our offense a little bit, but I think it went real well for us. Our defense was very strong as far as intensity goes. Our guard line did a tremendous job at keeping pressure on the opponents' guards. We could have shot the ball a little better.”
Rider says that some of the first game jitters could have been a factor on the shooting performance and will be working on that this week.
Fans will get their first chance of the season to see the Pronghorns in action this Sunday as the Chadron State Eagles come to town.
“It will be a full-fledged game situation... Chadron State's a good squad. They've got some good young kids coming back; they've got a real strong post player.”
The exhibition game is set to tip off at 4 p.m. at the South Campus.
