Pronghorn women go over century mark in win over Lady Rams

pronghorn-sports-storyGillette, Wyo.--The  #13 Gillette College Pronghorn women (15-3) got a much-needed, commanding win over Little Big Horn College (2-16) Saturday night. Two Pronghorns finished with double-doubles and four others finished with double digits in the 115-51 win at the South Campus.

Gillette College opened the game with an 8-0 run and held that momentum throughout the contest. Alicia Carline was strong under the basket, led all players in the game with 27 points and 14 boards. Keke Wright didn't do too bad herself underneath as she had 21 points and 10 rebounds. Freya Newton was a rebound away from a double-double and made 10 points.

The Pronghorns were 64.2 percent from the charity stripe, a huge improvement from their last game against Western Wyoming Community College on Wednesday night. They out-rebounded the Lady Rams by 39 boards and stole the ball 22 times.

The Pronghorns led at halftime 57-23 and cruised through the second half as they scored 58 more points. Everyone for Gillette College had significant playing time, with most of the game being like a hockey game with two lines of five players each.

Acacia Big Man led the Lady Rams with 13 points.

The Pronghorn women will play Williston State College Monday night at the South Campus. You can hear the game on 93.3 The Legend and online at https://network1sports.com/station/kled.
