The Wyoming Cowboy football team concluded its season in disappointing fashion, Saturday, as the Cowboys missed out on bowl eligibility with a 35-7 road loss to Utah State.
The Cowboys gained just 190 yards offensively, and coughed up two turnovers, as they fell to 5-7; their second-straight losing season.
Yesterday afternoon, Wyoming athletic director Tom Burman announced that he has fired Cowboy head coach Dave Christensen.
Christensen signed a five-year contract extension worth $1.2 million a year after the 2011 season. He has three years left on that contract.

DENVER (AP) - Senior Kaylee Hoffman sank a 3-pointer as time ran out to lift Wyoming over Denver 73-70 on Tuesday night.
It was Hoffman's only points of the game.
The Cowgirls remain undefeated over two games so far this season.
Fallon Lewis led the Cowgirls with a career high 17 points along with a team high nine rebounds. Chelan Landry added a career high 14 points, and Kayla Woodward 13.
Wyoming shot 23-62 (.371) from the field and 22-29 (.759) from the free throw line.
Coach Joe Legerski noted the team effort with many players contributing.
The Cowgirls will return home on Friday when they host Montana State 7 p.m. in the Arena Auditorium.
