DOUGLAS, Wyo.--Lingle-Ft. Laramie's bunch and tight formation on offense gave the Panthers' defense trouble all night long at Douglas High School on Saturday night. The final was 35-18.
Lane and Wyatt Hageman and Logan Duncan were able to break apart the Wright defensive line as they ran the ball consistantly and successfully. The Panthers had plenty of bright spots in the game. Branden Collen intercepted a rare Lane Hageman pass for 57 yards into the endzone. The Wright secondary had a big stop as time expired in the first half. Daniel Magana and Michael Yeradi batted down a couple passes and the defense kept the Doggers out of the endzone in the final drive of the half. Magana was able to get by the Dogger defensive line a few times on the night. The biggest play by Magana was a 62-yard scamper into the endzone with 1:20 left in the third quarter. Yeradi had a couple deep passes that connected with Kodi French on a rive that started at Wright's 6 yard line. A 50-yard and 26-yard reception to French pushed the drive up the field. It was completed with a one-yard run across the endzone by Magana.
A couple Panthers, Alex Ferguson and French, left the game injured. Head Coach Larry Yeradi said they were "a little banged up" and would know more later in the week. Wright will have its home opener against Burns at 6pm on Friday. You can hear the game on 101.5 The Drive and online at https://www.network1sports.com/station/kddv. The Big D at Wright Pregame Show starts at 5:45pm.
