Press Release - The Campbell County Senior Center will once again hold forums with the candidates running for City, County and State seats. 

These forums will provide you with the opportunity to hear each candidate’s views. All forums will be held in the Senior Center dining room from 1:00-3:00 p.m.  and are scheduled as follows;

Head Coach Will Rider of the Gillette College women's basketball team has found his new assistant coach to replace Steve Fettkether- Matt Strickland.

If you think you recognize that name, your brain isn't playing games with you. Strickland played for the Pronghorns during the 2010-12 seasons before transferring to Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont. to finish his college career.

At 12:56 PM on July 19th, the Campbell County Fire Departent responded to the area west of the Weston Hills recreation area for the report of a grass/timber fire started by lighting. 

The fire was contained at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at 40 acres. 

Crews from CCFD, County Road and Bridge and the BLM responded to the scene along with the state helicopter. Two single engine air tankers

A Big Horn County School District has delayed the start of its school year. Lovell's School District #2 amended the school calendar during a July 16 meeting of its board.

The Basin's first forest fire of the season is growing. The Dilworth fire was reported early Sunday afternoon in the vicinity of Snowshoe Creek on the Shoshone National Forest.

Bighorn National Forest Managers say that bear activity on the forest is continuing to rise. A spike of black bear sightings near campgrounds, private cabins, and lodges has both forest managers and the Game and Fish Department concerned for the safety of forest visitors.

All four candidates for Cody City Administrator are in town. The candidates arrived yesterday and dined with city council and staff. Today, the four will participate in a public reception.
