Press Release - A three phase trail maintenance project will temporarily close sections of the 1.3 mile Tower Trail while park rangers apply a sealant to the paved trail around the base of Devils Tower. A fatal crash west of Rawlins, Wyoming on July 22nd has resulted in the death of 30 year old Rock Springs, Wyoming resident Steven Gunderson. The crash occurred at 10:39 a.m. on the 22nd near mile post 207 on Interstate 80 approximately four miles west of Rawlins.

Yesterday at Fire Station 1 in Gillette, Campbell County Fire Chief Bill Shank and other fire officials gave an update on the Cedar Draw fire burning north of Gillette. Officials said that there was still a lot of area to contain, but it was estimated about 35% of it had a good solid containment line. Shank said the acres had grown over 3,700.

Refurbishment work is continuing to progress at the Worland Aquatic Center. Washakie County School District #1 Business Manager Jack Stott said that bricks and insulation are being brought down by construction workers and they're in the process of demolishing the roof around the building of the the facility as well, while brick in the lower sections of the building will not be touched.
