LANDER – Testing by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department has found chronic wasting disease (CWD), a fatal neurological disease of deer, elk and moose, in a deer from Fremont County in Deer Hunt Area 36. This brings the known total of CWD deer hunt areas in the Lander Region to five; areas 36, 87, 97, 98 and 157.

A 2 vehicle accident took place off of Big Horn Avenue and 10th Street in Worland just after 10am on Thursday morning, October 23. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has awarded Sheridan County numerous grants this year. At the Commissioners Meeting Tuesday, Dave Coleman, Emergency Management Coordinator in Sheridan County, spoke about the first two grants, one of which is set aside for equipment, the other for the Sheriff's Office.

The sun was front and center for about an hour and a half Thursday afternoon, particularly in the viewpoint of a special telescope on the lawn of the Mohns Science Center at Sheridan College. Why? A 6-year-old girl taken by her biological mother from northeastern Wyoming Monday will soon be reunited with her guardian grandparents, the Sheridan Police Department reports. Sergeant Travis Koltiska says on October 20th, the child was taken by her mother and removed from custody of her grandparents who are her court-placed guardians. Koltiska said a nationwide alert was released regarding the child who was found safe in Spokane, Washington this morning...
