The City of Gillette's Streets Division will begin its annual spring cleanup program on Monday, April 13th. This is a chance for the public to begin spring cleaning and have the City of Gillette pick up certain types of trash and debris.

The City of Gillette Utilities Department is announcing that the Madison Pipeline will be back in service on April 1st. The pipeline has been shut down since January to tie in and connect the existing Madison Pipeline to the new pipeline. The connections are complete, and the water will start flowing again April 1st.
This will have two immediate effects for City water users:

Washakie County School District #1 on Monday night, March 30 at their regular meeting at the Administration Building in Worland approved the hiring of Todd Weber to be a Special Education Teacher in the District effective at the start of the 2015-16 school year and to be the new Head Football Coach for Worland High School this upcoming season. Pedro Garcia Jr was arrested last week for his involvement in the January 2014 murder of Juan Antonio Guerra-Torres. He faces charges for consipiring to commit murder in the first degree and accessory before the fact of murder in the first degree.

Washakie County School District #1 was in session on Monday night, March 30 in the Administration Building in Worland. A 3rd Reading change to Policy 1.7 involving Benefits was approved where the District will pay a maximum of 90 percent for a family health insurance premium for Full-Time Personnel and their dependents. Optical and Dental Insurance is included. A 2nd Reading change to Policy 2.7

Friday, Representatives from across the state and more specifically, the three largest Northeastern Wyoming communities gathered together for the first ever Northeast Wyoming Economic Summit. As we've previously reported, the cities of Gillette, Buffalo, and Sheridan, have teamed up for a tri-city marketing agreement. The hope is that not just one of the towns will benefit from the partnership but all three will see an increase in tourism and potential economic growth. Read more
