Press Release - A single vehicle rollover resulted in the death of 22 year old Kaleb L. Matthiesen of Gillette, Wyoming this morning. The crash occurred at mile post 66.5 on Interstate 90 eight miles east of Buffalo at approximately 7:25 a.m.

We've reported numerous times in the past that Sheridan's airport would be receiving about $500,000 worth of grant monies that would go toward improving service. Within the past two years, the airport has seen 19% of its flights cancelled. The Critical Air Task Force that is made up of several individuals from Sheridan County, the city of Sheridan, Chamber of Commerce, and others is working on the issue. The group is hoping to seek a reliable carrier for the airport which would offer a low fare and non-stop service to a larger hub. Senator Mike Enzi has introduced legislation that helps airports such as Sheridan receive critical funds for multiple uses. Read more

The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services has released information regarding unemployment rates for December of 2014, and there is some good news. The State's unemployment rate fell from 4.5% in November to 4.2% in December. That's just slightly lower than it was in December of 2013, at 4.4%. Wyoming still has the nation's unemployment beat. Nationwide, unemployment sits at 5.6%. Read more

Washakie County School District #1 was in regular session on Monday night, January 26 in the Administration Building in Worland. Over half a dozen students from Worland High School were recognized for earning All-State in Music, while over a dozen students from the WHS Drama team were acknowledged for taking 1st as a team in All-State Drama and for receiving individual Top 5 finishes in All-State

On Sunday, January 25, an ice climber from Auburn, Washington was airlifted from the “Mean Green” ice flow near the Majo Ranch located at 4292 South Fork Road. Eiji Sugi, age 40 was climbing with a friend on the ice flow
