Press Release - Campbell County School District is starting a new technology program called TecConnect which stands for Transforming Education in the Classroom.  Ms. Lyla Downey started a grant program last summer where teachers apply for the opportunity to use computers in their classroom.  The teachers were selected by a technology team named by Ms. Downey.  The program will last

At this week's Campbell County Commissioners Meeting the board dealt with a resignation from the fire board. Chairman Mark Christensen said Blaine Geer had resigned to devote more time to his business. The board made the decision to fill the spot with current commissioner Micky Shober. He will serve on the board until January.

Last week men and women from every law enforcement agency in Wyoming gathered in Laramie for the annual Wyoming Peace Officer Association's Training Conference. The three day event includes the latest training techniques and an awards ceremony. The City of Gillette's Utilities Department announces the emergency closure of Dogwood Avenue between Redwood Street and Walnut Street due to a water main break.

The first significant snow storm of well, the late summer early fall arrived this morning, and with it came school delays and power outages across northern Wyoming. Most of the delays seemed to be concentrated on the heavier hit areas, Story and Buffalo in particular. Power was out in Story for at least several hours, and continued to be sporadic across Buffalo, enough though to close the town's schools for the day. Parts of northern Sheridan County were dark as well. To blame were tree limbs that couldn't bear the weight of the heavy snow. So was it as bad as we had predicted? Earlier this morning, a tanker truck hauling 5,500 gallons of latex crashed and rolled at mile-marker 71 on US14A, which is approximately 25 miles east of Lovell. 59-year-old Dennis Spurbeck of New Philadelphia, Ohio, was reported to be negotiating a curved section on the highway, which has a 10% downgrade.

Yesterday afternoon, shortly after 5 pm, word came across that a missing couple in the Bighorns had been found. The couple, Alissa DeVille and Blake Fuhriman, were reported missing since Monday evening in the Cloud Peak Wilderness. Fuhriman was transported off of the mountain first and was recovering at Johnson County Memorial. DeVille, having suffered a sprained ankle, was still on the mountain, but with rescue crews.
