Tuesday night the Gillette City Council gathered for a special workshop session. The council gave their support for a resolution authorizing submission of an application to the Business Ready Community Grant Loan Program. At last night’s Campbell County School Board meeting, Deputy Superintendent Dr. Alex Ayers reviewed and summarized results of a calendar survey and recommended a proposed calendar for the 2015/16 and the 2016/17 school years. The board approved the option C calendars with students reporting August 24th next year. Two built in snow days will also be part of the calendars and a spring break

It has already been a rough year for poaching in Wyoming, with upwards of 9 animals killed in northeastern Wyoming alone. Early in the season, the incidents were happening roughly a week a part, if not at shorter intervals. Moose, Mule Deer, and Antelope were all illegally taken. This isn't just confined to northeastern Wyoming either, it's a statewide problem. The public does help with providing tips, and the Game and Fish thanks those who have come forward. Washakie County School District #1 was in regular session on Monday night, October 27 in the Administration Building in Worland. WHS Lady Warrior Head Volleyball Coach Brittany Miller was on hand to represent herself, the rest of the coaching staff and all of the players for earning a WHSAA Good Sportsmanship Award for all of the matches her team competed in on September 13 and on October 11. 4

Some time between July 3rd through the 9th this year, a person or persons broke into two cabins in the Bighorn Mountains in the Long Park area, just off of Red Grade Road. The cabins are located near the Big Goose Ranger Station. The Sheridan County Sheriffs Office noted at the time that the cabins were completely ransacked and numerous items were stolen. The damaged caused by the person or persons responsible was irreplacable, said the Sheriff's office.
