Campbell County Public Library System (CCPL) is embarking on a mission to improve your library in Gillette.
Toward that end, CCPL cordially invites the public to our meeting to re-imagine your library on Tuesday, December 9 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the CCPL Wyoming Room.

The goal of this event, hosted by Humphries Poli Architects, is to gather public input regarding current use of library space

Winter weather has arrived in Northeast Wyoming which can cause highway surfaces to be slick and unpredictable. 
 
WYDOT is especially cautioning motorists today as area roads are very slick and they are creating dangerous driving conditions.

Update: Closure is over, Road is open

Echeta Road is closed west of Fox Run Road until further notice. The closure is do to a traffic accident. No injuries are being reported, but it will take an hour or two to remove a jackknifed semi-truck from the roadway.

The tuition rates will remain the same in 2015 for Gillette College students.

The Wyoming Community College Commission voted 6-1 on Thursday, Nov. 27, to keep the current tuition rates the same for the state’s seven community colleges.

Tuition rates for full-time Gillette College students is about $1,450 per semester.

On August 20, 2012, Brett Collins was killed at a job site in Sheridan County when he was struck in the head by an excavator bucket while working in a trench. The incident was caused by a lapse in judgement according to family member Mary Jane Collins, who was one of several who have spoken during this week's Legislative Forums at the Sheridan City Hall. Present were Senators Bruce Burns and Dave Kinskey, and Representatives Mark Jennings, Rosie Berger, and John Patton. The issue is still fresh on the family's mind, as it has been pushing since then to improve Wyoming's "dismal worker safety record". Mary Jane Collins said changes need to be made...

The Wyoming Highway Patrol has released statistics from 2014 regarding highway fatalities. So far this year, 136 deaths have occurred on roadways across the state, and folks are asking why the number is high compared to last year. For reference, last year only 87 died on the roadways. While the number last year was low, the Highway Patrol said it didn't expect that to be the normal trend. From 1994-2014, less fatalities have happened on Wyoming's roadways according to the Highway Patrol.

It's no secret, winter is officially here to stay.  With winter comes possibly hazardous road conditions due to snowfall melting and freezing on the road ways.  Luckily, our road and travel crews are well versed when it comes to treating the roads.  Although it is also our responsibility as travelers on these roads to be aware of the conditions, and drive accordingly, especially during the holiday season.

Washakie County School District #1 was in regular session on Monday night, November 24 in the Administration Building in Worland. Tiffany Greear was recognized with a plaque for the 4 years she has put in as a Board member through the School District. The Coaches and Players from the Worland High School Girls Volleyball team were awarded a WHSAA Good Sportsmanship Award along with WHS Bus Driver
