Turn In Unwanted Military Munitions Oct. 30

News-genericCAMP GUERNSEY JOINT TRAING CENTER, Wyo. - Camp Guernsey Joint Training Center will hold a military ammunition amnesty day Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This free program is designed for the public to turn-in unwanted military ammunition, with no questions asked, during disposal. Since unexploded military ordnance can be dangerous and unsafe to store in a private residence, Camp Guernsey is offering this opportunity to provide a safe means to dispose of the ammunition. This is not a requirement for the local community.

For ammunition that is safe to move, it can be taken to the turn-in site located on S. Wyoming Highway, located approximately 3/4 mile past the Platte River Bridge to the Camp Guernsey South Pistol Range. There will be signs directing residents to a crew that will be on site to take the munitions and properly dispose of it.

If anyone has military ammunition that they consider too dangerous for movement, or just have any questions, they can call the Camp Guernsey Fire Desk at 307-836-7810.
