Pronghorn Men Dominate Central Wyoming Rodeo

The Gillette College Men's Rodeo team finished first, and dominated the Central Wyoming College Rodeo with over 750 points, last weekend.

Donny Scantling led the men's team winning 5th in the steer wrestling and a 1st place finish in the team roping with partner Jade Schmidt. Freshman Brady Wakefield stepped up for his first college rodeo winning the team roping short go and was 4th in the average with partner Seth Anderson. Wakefield also finished 3rd in the steer wrestling and 6th in the tie down roping. Jade Blackwell had a good 3rd place finish in the bronc riding and Wyatt Kammerer followed in 4th. Devan Reilly placed 6th in the bareback riding and Blake Williams took 6th in steer wrestling.

The Women's team was second overall, led by Kristi Steffes, who won the barrel race, she was also 6th in goat tying. Coralee Spratt was 2nd in the breakaway long go. Tally Roepke finished 3rd in the barrels and Taylor Engessor placed 6th.

Next weekend the team will be headed to Chadron, Nebraska.
