Practice continues for Camel football; starts for others

Practice starts, this morning, for the Campbell County High School Volleyball, Golf, Tennis, Cross Country, and Girls Swimming and Diving Teams.

Practice started a week ago, for the Camel Football team.

They had a controlled scrimmage on Saturday.  Here's Coach Vic Wilkerson's plan for the upcoming two weeks between now and their first game against Kelly Walsh on August 30th.

“We'll start to put guys into personnel groups and see how they work together, and then we'll go back and evaluate that,” said Wilkerson.  “Going into week number two, we'll go Monday through Thursdaywith different practice schedules, and get lots of time in, with lots of film work to evaluate practice.  We'll find out who our top guys are from each unit, and start getting out depth chart figured out.”

Practice starts today for the Wright Panthers, and continues for the Upton/Sundance Patriots. Upton/Sundance will be in Lusk, on August 31st, for their season opener against Burns.  Here's their Coach Todd Klopp.

“Running a co-op program with Upton, it's about getting used to each other again.  We've had a little bit of time off from each other, so it's just the ida of getting back together,” said Klopp.

“It's always fun getting together in the fall.  The kids are excited to be back and ready to get after it.  As always, I anticipate our numbers. I'm a little anxious about how many we'll have out,” said Wright Panther Coach Larry Yeradi.  “Our numbers have kind of stagnated over the last couple years, we've had about 25 or 26, but we'll take whatever we have and try to make them better.”

Wright opens its season on September 6th, on the road against Lingle-Fort Laramie.
