Camel Girls Win At Wayne Chaney Invite

The Gillette Camel Girls Cross Country team placed first, as a team, last Friday in the Wayne Chaney Memorial Invite at Camplex Park.

Tabitha Simmons was the top individual finisher, for the Camels, as she took third in the Varsity 5K Run.  Her time was 19:44.12.  Quinn DeStefano placed fourth with a time of 19:52.74.

Jessi Jeffries also finished in the top ten, taking ninth in 20:34.07.  Grace Wiley and Marie Doherty also registered points for the Camels.

The Gillette Boys' Cross Country team placed fourth on Friday.  Derek Myers placed eighth overall, in the Boys Varsity 5K, with a time of 16:55.27.  Harrison Simmons was 16th; his time was 17:38.32.  Jusin Mehrer took 20th, with a time of 17:47.17.  Logan Wagoner and Chris Hill also added to Gillette's point total.

The Camels compete, Friday, in the Jackalope Invite at Douglas High School.

The Newcastle Boys Cross Country team took the team title, Friday, at the Belle Fourche Invite.
