Camel Boys, Girls In 2nd at State Tennis

The Gillette Boys and Girls Tennis teams are both currently in second place at the State High School Tennis Tournament in Gillette.

The Camels' Boys number one singles player, Sam Coulter, advanced to the semi-final round with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Green River's Taten Knight in the opening round, and a 3-6, 64-, 6-3 win over Evanston's Dylan Hatenalas in the quarterfinals.

Gillette’s Gabe Belden has advanced to the semi-finals in Boys Number Two Singles, after he beat Rawlins' Justin Ford, 6-1, 6-4, and Evanston's Alex Corbin, 6-2, 6-1.

The Camel Boys' Number One doubles team of Hinkel and Vetter has also advanced to the semi-finals.

For the girls, Madison Hinshaw beat Rock Springs' Lexy Newman, 6-3, 6-0 and Torrington's Elizabeth Chavarria, 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the semi-finals.

Lauren Miller has advanced to the semi-finals with a 6-0, 6-2 win over June Hessler in the opening round and then a 6-2, 6-3 win over Central's Kali True.

Sanders and Cook advanced to the Girls Number One singles semi-finals, for Gillette, with wins over teams from Central and Powell.

Knutson and Adsit advanced to the Girls Number Two doubles semi-finals, for Gillette, after wins over teams from South and Jackson.
