Gillette Girls Claim State Tennis Title

The Gillette High School Girls tennis team is Class 4A State Champions, as the Camels registered 49 total points to finish ahead of Laramie, who had 43 points, and Natrona County, who had 42.

The Camels number one doubles team of Kelsie Sanders and Paige Cook claimed the state title by beating a team from Natrona County. Gillette's number two doubles team of Rachel Knutson and Bre Adsit placed second in their bracket.  The number three doubles team of Abby Toscana and Sydney Sallee placed third.

Number one singles player Madison Hinshaw took fourth.  Lauren Miller placed second in number two singles.

This Girls' state title is the fourth in Gillette High School History, and their first since 2010.

The Gillette Boys placed second overall, behind Laramie.  Their number one doubles team of Camdin Hinkel and Jacob Vetter are state champs after a win over a team from Cheyenne Central.  The number two doubles team Beau Nutting and Kyle Okray took third in their bracket. Cory and Logan Myers placed fifth in number three doubles.

Number one singles player Sam Coulter took third in his bracket.  Gabe Belden placed second in number two singles.
