The Gillette Camel boys basketball team improved to 14-3, over the weekend, with a pair of wins in Cheyenne

On Friday night, the Camels fell behind by as many as ten, in the first half, but rallied to take a two-point halftime lead, on their way to a 54-46 win.

The Camels were led by Cody Kelley, who scored nine of his twenty points in the fourth quarter. Kelley scored four points in the first period, and with those four points he became the all-time leading scorer in Gillette boys basketball history, surpassing the record previously held by Terran Brown, of 1175 points.

On Saturday afternoon, the number-two ranked Camels paid a visit to number-three ranked Cheyenne East, in a battle of two teams with thirteen wins. It was a close game throughout, but Gillette pulled out a 62-57 win behind 16 points from Kelley and tens points apiece from both Garrett Schempp and Cale Miessler.

Both the Camel boys and girls will be in Sheridan, Friday, to face the Broncs. You can hear both games on 97.3 KAML-FM and online at
