Camels hold on to defeat East

GILLETTE, Wyo.--The Camels (17-6, 8-0) were outscored in the fourth quarter 22-5, but were able to hang on to a 77-67 victory Friday night over Cheyenne East (16-4, 5-2). The game was played at the North Campus.

Gillette started out the game on a 14-0 run and rolled on to a 52-27 lead at halftime.

The Camels kept the scoring drive going in the third quarter to finish the period up 72-45. However, in the fourth quarter, the Camels got sloppy. Turnovers and the inability to get some rebounds allowed East to go on a 22-5 run in the fourth quarter. The ample lead for Gillette to start the quarter was too much for East.

Gillette made 13 triples in the game and went eight for eight from the line.

Gillette plays Cheyenne Central on Saturday afternoon at 1:30pm. You can hear the game on Fox Country 100.7 and online at https://www.network1sports.com/station/kgwy.
