Tax Season Stress May Have Led To Family Fight

At 9:42 am on March 26th, the Gillette Police Department responded to the 200 block of west 11th street. Lieutenant Brent Wasson said a 57-year-old man got in an argument with his 33-year-old son and the disagreement turned physical.

“The father had asked his son to work on getting taxes done, they then began to argue.”---Wasson

Wasson said the father placed his son in a choke-hold and restricted his breathing. Wasson said the son had trouble swallowing and complained that his neck hurt. The man had visible signs of injury.

The 33-year-old son refused medical attention. The 57-year-old father was arrested as a felony strangulation of a household member suspect.
