Roughriders Win Two on Saturday

The Gillette Roughriders registered a pair of wins, Saturday, in Billings. Starting with a 13-0 shut out of the Billings Halos

Ian Durgin was 4-for-4 with 2 RBIs. Tanner Rogen got the win on the mound, as he pitched three strikouts and gave up one hit in three innings.

In the second game of the day, Gillette jumped out to an 11-0 lead in the first 4 ½ innings, and hung on to beat the Laurel Dodgers, 11-8.

Alex King was 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs. Wyatt Estabrook was the winning pitcher as he struck out five and allowed one hit in three innings.

Riders coach Nate Perleberg says he's encouraged by his defensive lineup as the season gets underway.

The Roughriders' home opener is tomorrow night against Rapid City Stevens. First pitch is set for 5:30, you can hear it on NewsTalk 1270 KIML with coverage underway at 5:15.
