National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

Cheyenne – Each year, the second full week of April is dedicated to the men and women who serve as public safety telecommunicators.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers across the State honor our dispatchers during this week.  The Patrol dispatch center, located in Cheyenne, is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  The center never closes for holidays or "snow days" as that is at a time when the center can become the busiest.

Our dispatchers take phone calls, provide a voice to the people calling in for assistance and offer guidance to the responding Troopers and other law enforcement, EMS and fire department agencies.

Join me in sending a "Happy National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week" to the men and women in the Wyoming Highway Patrol dispatch center.
