Gillette Girls Take 2nd at Gary Benson Border War

The Gillette Girls track team took second place, and the Gillette Boys took fourth, yesterday at the Gary Benson Border War, in Sheridan.

Elizabeth Maller placed first in the shot put, for the Camel girls. Derek Myers and Justin Mehrer took first and second, respectively, for the boys, in the 3200 meter run. Dustin Erisman placed first in the pole vault.

Walker Newell was second in the Boys 110 meter hurdles. Jessi Jeffries placed second in the Girls 1600 meter run. Chandra Sturtz took second in the Girls Pole Vault.

Third place finishers, for the Camels, included Jessie Geer, in the Girls 100 meter dash and 100 meter hurdles; Haley Urbatsch in the Girls 400 meter dash; the Girls 4x100 meter relay team of Bre Adsit, Abby Moerkerke, Taylor Deaton, and Julia Seamans; Seamans in the Girls Long Jump; Lauren Hallcroft in the Girls Shot Put; and Erisman in the Boys 400 meter dash.
