The Gillette Roughriders went 2-1, in three games against the Billings Halos, Friday and Saturday. Sunday afternoon's game was rained out.
On Friday, Gillette beat the Halos, 8-1. Wyatt Estabrook got the win on the mound, as he struck out nine batters in six innings. He allowed three hits and no earned runs. Mason Bonar struck out three batters in relief.
Lucas Rissler was 2-for-5 at the plate, with a single, a triple, and and RBI. Gillette scored three runs in the second, oner in the fifth, and then four more in the sixth.
On Saturday, the two teams played a double-header, and Billings won the first one, 6-3. The game was tied at three, after four innings, but Billings scored one run in the fifth, and two more in the sixth, to come away with the win.
In the second game, Billings jumped out to a 5-0 lead through the first 5 ½ innings, behind a strong pitching performance from starter Cole Torgerson, he threw six strikeouts, and allowed just two hits and no runs.
Torgerson was replaced, in the bottom of the sixth, and the Roughriders erupted for eight runs. Lucas Rissler and Josh Hughes each had two RBIs during the comeback. Josh Bradberry got the win on the mound, as he registered one strike out, and gave up no hits in one inning of relief.
The Riders are on the road against Sturgis on Wednesday night.
