The Gillette Girls track team took first out of 26 teams, Friday, at the Wyoming Track and Field Classic in Casper.
Abby Phillips placed first in the 3200 meter run, as she beat the rest of the field by nearly 25 seconds. Her time was 11:26.17.
Second-place finishers, for the Lady Camels, included Ruth Sifuma, in the 100 meter hurdles; Tatum Barstad, in the 3200 meter run; and Ashlynn Erisman, in the pole vault.
Chandra Sturtz was third, in the pole vault; as was McKenna Massman, in the high jump; and Liz Maller, in the shot put.
Fourth-place finishers, for the Gillette Girls, included Haley Urbatsch, in the 400 meter dash; and Sidney Wendt, in the 1600 meter run.
The Gillette boys track team placed third behind Natrona County and Kelly Walsh.
Walker Newell took first, for the Camels, in the 300 meter hurdles. Dustin Erisman was second in the pole vault. Newell was third in the pole vault.
Fourth-place finishers, for the Gillette Boys, included Erisman, in the 400 meter dash; Newell, in the 110 meter hurdles; Harrison Simmons, in the 1600 meter run; Derek Myers, in the 3200 meter run; and Tyler Mayhue, in the triple jump.
Gillette hosts the Camel Qualifier this Friday at noon.
