Camel Soccer Teams to Host Regional Tourney This Week

The second-ranked Gillette Boys soccer team concluded its season, Friday, with a 1-0 win over fourth-ranked Sheridan.

Gillette's Camdin Hinkel got an assist from Andy Guernsey, 20 minutes into the third overtime, and scored the game winning goal, as the Camels finished the regular season with a 10-1-2 overall record, and will host this week's Class 4A East regional tournament as a number two seed.

On Friday afternoon at 3:30, Gillette will be home against the winner of Thursday's match between third-seeded Cheyenne Central and sixth-seeded Cheyenne South.

The Gillette Girls soccer team goes into the Class 4A East Regional tournament as a fourth-seed. They'll be home against fifth-seeded Cheyenne Central, Thursday afternoon at 5:30, battling for the right to play top-seeded Laramie on Friday.

The Gillette Girls finished their regular season with an overall record of 8-6, after falling to Sheridan, 3-1, last Friday.
