11 AM Update: 3 Fatalities Confirmed

11am Update from Wyoming Highway Patrol: A transport bus departing a mine site, carrying approximately 2 dozen employees came upon a construction zone. Northbound traffic was stopped awaiting a pilot car. The bus, at apparently highway speed, collided with a line of parked vehicles. There were 8 total vehicles in the crash, including the bus. Three adult fatalities are confirmed at this time from 2 of the parked vehicles. No fatalities from the bus have been reported at this time.  It may be several more hours before traffic resumes. No additional information is available at this time.


9:00 AM Update:  A crash involving 9 vehicles on Highway 59 South of Gillette at Mile Post 99 occurred around 7:30 AM this morning.  The Wyoming Highway Patrol, Campbell County Sheriffs Office as well as numerous other Emergency Vehicles are on scene.  There are numerous injuries and multiple fatality. 


The roadway is completely blocked at this time and emergency crews are anticipating it to take several hours before they are able to get traffic moving again on Highway 59.  Motorists in the area are asked to be patient and all other motorists that need to go in this direction are asked to find alternative routes at this time.
