GAME AND FISH SEEKS PUBLIC INPUT ON SHERIDAN REGION BIG GAME HERD OBJECTIVES

SHERIDAN—The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is holding public information meetings to review and discuss big game herd management objectives for the North Bighorn mule deer herd, Clearmont, Ucross and Beckton pronghorn antelope herds and the Powder River white-tailed deer herd. Game and Fish periodically reviews wildlife herd objectives to determine if they are appropriate.

The North Bighorn mule deer herd includes deer hunt areas 24, 25, 27, 28 on the east side of the Bighorn Mountains and deer hunt areas 50-53 on the west side of the Bighorns. The Clearmont antelope herd consists of antelope hunt area 15; the Ucross antelope herd consists of antelope hunt areas 10 and 16, while the Beckton antelope herd consists of antelope hunt area 109. The Powder River white-tailed deer herd consists of deer hunt areas 17-20, 23-33, 163 and 169.  

Meetings will be held at the following locations to discuss the North Bighorn mule deer herd, the antelope herds mentioned above and the Powder River white-tailed deer herd:

7:00 p.m., May 27, Buffalo, Johnson County Fire District meeting room, 709 Volunteer Lane

7:00 p.m., May 28, Sheridan, G&F Regional Office, 700 Valley View
