Wyatt Estabrook was Sunday’s winning pitcher. He struck out nine batters in seven innings, allowing five hits and no earned runs.
The Riders played two games, yesterday, starting with a 12-1 win over Rawlins, punctuated by a grand slam from King in the second inning. Hunter Sylte was the winning pitcher, as he struck out five batters in three innings, giving up one hit and no earned runs.
Gillette won the tournament Championship, Monday evening, with a 4-3 win over the Rapid City Expos. The Riders trailed, 2-1, until the bottom of the fifth when they scored three runs, thanks mainly to a two-run double from King.
The Riders are home for a pair of double-headers, this Saturday and Sunday. Gillette hosts Mitchell on Saturday at 2 and 4 p.m. They’ll be home against Casper at 1 and 3 on Sunday. You can hear the first game, each day, on NewsTalk 1270 KIML and basinsradio.com.
