The Gillette Roughriders improved their overall record to 21-9, by going 3-1, in four games over the weekend.
The only loss came in the opening game of Saturday's double-header against Mitchell Post 18, when the Riders fell 6-3. Gillette was down 6-0 before they responded with three runs in the bottom of the fourth.
The Roughriders bounced back in the second game, as they blanked Post 18, 7-0. Taner Rogen struck out nine batters, and gave up two hits, in six innings. Jarran Arbach struck out two, in the seventh, as he came on in relief. Tyler Tennant was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, and two RBIs. Kyler Stark hit a home run, going one-for two at the plate.
On Sunday, Gillette jumped out to a 5-2 lead, after one inning of play, in their opening game against the Casper Oilers. The Riders added four more runs in the bottom of the fifth, and went on to win, 9-5. Alex King was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
In Sunday's second game, Gillette was down 11-3, heading into the bottom of the fifth, but the Riders scored four runs in the fifth, and three in the sixth, to make it 11-10, heading into the seventh.
After holding the Oilers scoreless in the top of the inning, the Riders tied it at 11, and then Zach Donahoo hit an RBI single to score Rogen. Riders win 12-11.
Arbach was 3-for-5 with two doubles and seven RBIs. He was also the winning pitcher, striking out two, and allowing two hits in just over two innings of relief. Rogen was 2-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs.
