7:30 p.m.   Forte Femme will be playing this year's festival - don't miss this show!

As their name suggests, Forte Femme is comprised of eight powerhouse women who aren't afraid to use their voices-- and only their voices. An a cappella ensemble, Forte Femme breathes new life into music with their vocal prowess, creative instincts, and in-house arrangements that boldly venture off the musically beaten path. As individuals, Forte Femme's members are unique artists, songwriters, creators, and dreamers. Together, they are a musical and vocal force to be reckoned with.  In addition to eight women, Forte Femme also includes one dude who performs with the group!

9:00 p.m.   HEADLINER - Paula Cole:

Here's what reviewers say about Paula Cole:
"An extraordinary songwriter with a gorgeous voice" - Rolling Stone

". a feisty poet with a soaring voice and a funky groove." - Entertainment Weekly

"Paula is an original voice both in what she is saying and how she is saying it." - Peter Gabriel.
Grammy winner and 7 time Grammy nominee Paula Cole has released six solo albums spanning an eighteen year career.  Cole's emotionally deep and thrilling performances are a trademark. Poetic and fiercely touching, intelligent writing makes Cole stand apart. Her compositions have been covered by Herbie Hancock, Annie Lennox, Katherine McPhee to name a few.

From a small town in Massachusetts Paula Cole was raised in a musical family with whom she
and her daughter remain close. Cole is a scholarship alumna from Berklee College of Music with a background in jazz, received her first record deal with a jazz label (which she declined), and has collaborated with many jazz artists. Paula teaches and gives clinics in a spirit of giving back to the circle of music. With a loving allegiance to her fans, she maintains loyal communication online and after her live shows.

As the first woman in history to solely produce and receive the best Producer Grammy nomination for her work, This Fire, Cole has broken boundaries with a searcher's spirit. From her top ten hits  of the 1990's to her more recent critically acclaimed albums, Paula Cole continues to write, produce, record and perform heartfelt, meaningful, lasting music that defies categorization.

Saturday, June 28th - Main Stage

Freddy Rodriguez

2:00 p.m. - Purple Squirrel will hit the Donkey Creek Festival for the first time with some serious funk on Saturday, June 28th.
 Purple Squirrel

4 p.m.   Mutts, a Chicago-based band, brings their unique sound to Donkey Creek for the first time. Check them out!

6 p.m.   The Slide Brothers are BACK!  If they didn't get you moving last year, you need to check your pacemaker!

"Like their mentor Robert Randolph, The Slide Brothers may have started out in the sacred steel tradition, but this debut is likely to frighten the bejesus out of the church elders. While gospel is most assuredly at the root of this 11-songer, the quartet-Calvin Cooke, Chuck Campbell, Darick Campbell and Aubrey Ghent-find as much comfort in the blues of Elmore James and the rock of The Allman Brothers Band and George Harrison as they do from the spirituals.'Praise You,' featuring a wailing Shemekia Copeland vocal, is powered by battling, screaming twin guitars that would have done Duane and Dickey (or Derek and Warren) proud." Relix

8 p.m.   The Cherry Poppin' Daddies Salute the Music of the Rat Pack!  What else is there to say?
CPD Cherry Poppin' Daddies
celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2009, with the honor of an induction into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame; joining other notables such as Robert Cray and Doc Severinsen.  The Daddies brand of high-energy swing music has for years had the unique ability to bring generations together. It's the only band around where high school aged Psychobilly scenesters and their grandparents can come together dancing in the same audience. As a result, the Daddies have an impressive range of popularity that makes them a hit with colleges, festivals, casinos and fairs. Onstage, the Daddies have enough of an edge to not come off as bland or plastic, and more than enough chops, class and style to satisfy any orthodox jazz fanatic.

The band emerged in the late 80's with a style that wed the energy of contemporary rock and roll with influences from the golden age of the American songbook- the 30's and 40's. Prime compositional influences include: Fletcher Henderson, Jimmie Lunceford, Duke Ellington, and Louis Jordan. In addition to a main course of very hip influences, the Daddies don't hesitate to garnish the plate with touches of more exotic fare: Jamaican Ska, Flamenco, Samba, Rockabilly, Soca, and even Glam Rock!

Their classic album of 1998, Zoot Suit Riot- The Swingin' Hits of the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, went double platinum. Propelled by the mega hit single that has become one of those staples in the canon of fun American pop; Zoot Suit Riot still hangs in there right along side Celebration and YMCA on wedding reception dj's playlists, and sporting events, from sea to shining sea!

How these dashing gentleman of song and stage manage to stay so energized- pushing to the margins of pop art, and retaining, low these many years, their pre rock and roll classicism and craftsmanship; is a feat so rare (Roxy Music anyone?) that it seems damned brand new.

Sunday, June 29th - Main Stage
Noon  Local musician, Dan Coletti, takes the Donkey Creek stage for the first time.

1 p.m.   We finally managed to book the Colorado band, Colcannon!  Looking forward to their first show at Donkey Creek!

2:30   Big Swing Trio is back and better and badder than ever.  Normally, we would say they're bigger and badder, but seeing as they are still a trio, we can't say that they are bigger.  But these dudes have chops!BST cropped

4 p.m.   Alex DePue hits the Donkey Creek Festival stage for the first time.  Mr. DePue is described as one of the leading improve violinists in the country, if not the world.  Need more proof? Check this out!

5:30 p.m.   Gillette native, Josh Dorr, has arrived!  With an RCA record deal and hot new EP on iTunes - don't miss this special show!

7:30 p.m.  Closing this year's festival is Wyoming native and icon, Jalan Crossland. This is Jalan's second year at Donkey Creek and we are thrilled to have him back!

After Jalan Crossland takes his bow, the 2014 Donkey Creek Festival will be over, and we will all be sated after a great weekend of live music and fun.  Don't miss the 2014 Donkey Creek Festival.
