Teen Arrested After Knife Incident

At 10:19 PM on June 25th, the Gillette Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Church Street.  Lieutenant Chuck Deaton said a group off teenagers reported that a 16-year-old boy had assaulted them. A teenage male victim reportedly received a split lip during the altercation.

The victim told police that the suspect also brandished a knife. The victim said the suspect held the knife up and stated, “Let's go.”

Deaton said the suspect had left the area but was contacted by police a short time later after a traffic stop. The suspect allegedly told police that he did assault a teenaged male after the suspect’s sister was verbally assaulted. He also allegedly admitted to taking out the knife and stating, “Let's go.”

Deaton said the teen was arrested as a felony aggravated assault suspect. The knife was recovered after a search of the vehicle.
