Alcohol Allegedly A Factor In Dispute With Knife

At 3:04 a.m. this morning, the Gillette Police Department responded to the 800 block of North Gurley Avenue. The initial report was of a criminal trespass in progress. As officers were in route, dispatchers informed them an adult male had pulled a knife on another male. The officers were also informed that a 4-year-old child was nearby the dispute.

Detective Sergeant Joe Baird said that officers made contact with a 46-year-old man who admitted pulling the knife on a 28-year-old male. The dispute allegedly began over the suspect's apparent level of intoxication. He was arrested as a felony aggravated assault suspect and also charged with criminal trespass. No injuries were reported.
