Officials Focused On Impaired Driving Problem

Written by on May 11, 2017

Yesterday Ernie Johnson, the facilitator for the Governor’s Council on Impaired Driving, presented information on the council at the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.

“The Governor’s Council on Impaired Driving is teaming up with local community leaders in creating a task force to work on the impaired driving problem in Campbell County. ” —- Johnson

Johnson said officials are hoping to see a lot of public involvement to help with the effort.

“Most people are not aware that 45% of the people in Campbell County jails were there for DUI last time, and so it’s a major concern. The other concern, and the numbers can be provided by your Sheriff and your law enforcement, is the tremendous loss to the taxpayers as a result of impaired driving.” — Johnson
