Press Release – Senator Mike Enzi will be the special guest of The Campbell County Cemetery District Board and Staff as they celebrate the completion and opening of The Gardens at Mt. Pisgah. The Memorial Day Grand Opening is scheduled for Monday, May 29, 2017, with musical entertainment by members of the Gillette Chamber Singers beginning at 10 a.m. and the Program starting at 10:30 a.m., followed by the VFW Memorial Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. The Inspiration Garden at the peak of the Cemetery is the location for the event, with refreshments and tours following the Memorial Day Service to include both Gardens, Unity and Inspiration.

The Gardens at Mt. Pisgah is the first of its kind in the region. The concept of the Gardens was first explored in 2014 by the District Board as they searched to find an efficient and economical way to increase capacity in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. The Gardens fulfill their criteria, of service, beautification, versatility, efficiency and community enhancement.

The new gardens contain water features, walking paths, benches, trees, shrubbery, and flowers, plus pavilions. Each garden includes parking and gateways. Community residents and visitors are encouraged to hold events, weddings, family gatherings, etc., in addition to funerals and memorials in the Gardens. “ The design of the Gardens allow a celebration of life at all stages and an inclusion of family in all gatherings,” added, Jim Hastings, President of the Cemetery District Board of Directors, “Our hope is that we can change the way people think about the function of a cemetery, and encourage the community to visit and make use of the Gardens throughout their lives.”

The Grand Opening event is the Community Celebration of Life. The program will celebrate the planning, construction, and collaboration of many local vendors involved in The Garden Project. Attendees will have the chance to meet the Board of Directors and Staff and have any questions answered. Inquiries about bookings for the Gardens can be answered through the Cemetery District Office at 682-3125.
