LIEAP Update & Additional Resources

Written by on April 15, 2020

Many questions have been raised regarding the LIEAP season in response to Covid-19. We’re working diligently to assist with those questions. Please find the latest information below:

The LIEAP application period for assistance with heating bills closed on February 29th.  Wyoming will be receiving emergency supplemental funds appropriated in the CARES Act to help prevent, prepare for, and respond to the impacts of Covid-19. Information regarding Wyoming’s allocation and how it will be distributed will be shared as soon as we know the requirements.

We’re asking potential LIEAP clients that lost their job or had hours reduced to please complete an application NOW. They can apply online at lieapwyo.org

If you’re at disconnect, please send in a copy of the disconnect notice NOW.

At this time, the LIEAP special situation (crisis) season for current LIEAP recipients has been extended from April 15, 2020, to at least May 31, 2020. Special situations that qualify: are at disconnect, need a deposit, need a one-time additional fuel (propane, wood, coal, oil) fill, need a propane tank set or rental, OR own your home and furnace is broken.

Weatherization applications are accepted year round. We encourage you to apply NOW. If selected for Weatherization it will help to reduce home energy cost burden. Apply online lieapwyo.org.
