Les Jones

Les came to Gillette and Fox Country from West Texas. After graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Army and was a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. He then went on to become a State Trooper in the Texas Highway Patrol. “During this time I listened to a lot of radio and thought to myself, maybe I missed my calling. I was inspired by two local on air personalities who gave me the drive to pursue my dream of being on air.”

Les then went on to obtain his degree from Amarillo College in Mass Media. Since then he has been living the dream which brought him to Gillette.

Les loves the outdoors. In his spare time you can find him fishing in his kayak or hiking the area. He is also a member of a worldwide charity organization called the 501st Legion, which makes visits to children’s hospitals dressed as screen accurate Star Wars characters.

If he is not out enjoying the outdoors or taking part in charity events, he will spend time at home enjoying a good movie.

“My advice to everyone would be to find something you are passionate about. If you are doing what you love for a job you will never work a day of your life because it is your passion.”

Listen to Les each weekday afternoon from 2-6 on Fox Country 100.7 FM.
